SOA Questions

Well we have nearly finished filling in our SOA.

But I have a question about the banks and credit cards part...

The question asks us to list all accounts we have held in the past two years including dormant ones. Now we have our details for our main run accounts but over the past two years have had a few other accounts too, but they are closed ( apart from 2) and we dont have any details anymore.
My Husband is concerned as he has an account that was meant to be closed years ago with his ex, but recently he received a letter saying it was still open with his and his exs name at the top ( this was just a girlfriend not wife) . He is obviously keen for this to be closed but apparently it cant be without getting exs signatire, this is not an option..

He spoke to a Bankruptcy clerk today who said, that if we did not include ALL of our accounts ( none of which have debts on them) it is not the ORs job to chase around finding out our details and is our liability.

Is this right? we are in a bit of a heated discussion about it as this obviously conflicts with everything I have read in here

Please help set us straight.

  • Well actually it is their job to go looking for your bank accounts ! you have absolutely nothing to worry about just tell them about all accounts past and present to the best of your knowledge

Thought that was the answer but was only 80% sure so thought it best to bump for the experts.
