Too much tax?

Hi
First of all apologies for my English.
I am employed in two jobs. In the first one I have the 1250L tax code, second one I've got the BR tax code.
In the last two month I've been massively taxed in the second job, it is literally a 50% both months and according with the tax code, it should have been just a 20%.
I called Hmrc last month and they said it's the company problem but the company says it's not. I'm completely lost and I don't know what step to take next.
Is it actually the company's fault?
Thanks!
