O/S Daily Tuesday 30 July 2019

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly, those who are looking after a poorly person x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Cloudy damp start to the day, damp underfoot but not raining at the moment, although more rain is forecast for today.

DH and DS1 now getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my porridge and cuppa whilst on here. DS2 settled and ok.

Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg, tonight will be a late dinner as hairdresser is coming but I have the LO's of Sunday's roast so that's what we'll be having.

Yesterday work was busy, and the workmen arrived to put in the new doors, which took all day and varying amounts of hammering, drilling and mess. I'm working at the other office today so won't have to put up with the next part of the job, hopefully it'll all be finished today and when I go in tomorrow it'll be all sorted.

Keep safe and well x

  • Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Make the best of your day away from all the noise!

I got up to brilliant sunshine but that's already disappearing and rain is forecast by lunchtime. Remaining mild though so that's something!

After a couple of days of catching up on much neglected jobs I am now having a couple of days of doing nothing! Today I am meeting my friend for our usual Tuesday catch up over coffees and lunch. I think I may go back to the Cheesy Broccoli Bake today! I am having withdrawal symptoms!

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all who need/want them. A wave to absent friends. Take care all xx

Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread nmlc.

It is gorgeous here just now, the sun is shining and there is a nice breeze. The weather forecast says thunderstorms, heavy rain and possibly hail later. I'm surprised they are not suggesting that we'll be visited by a rain if frogs and the seven plagues, perhaps that's tomorrow.

Spent most of yesterday working, then did sone teddy making in the afternoon.

Haven't slept much, but no commitments today. I do need to go out but it doesn't have to be today, I'd rather not end up soaked and several miles from home.

At 5.30 the buddleia was attracting lots of bumblebees and during the day, honeybees come visiting. I know little about bees but my friend's OH is a beekeeper and I've got a jar of real honey in the pantry. Or in the larder I forget which.

Hope everyone has a good day

Lovely and sunny here this morning, forecast looks like we'll miss the rain, but the garden needs it.

Good morning, it's grey here, but a bit brighter than yesterday.

It's ds's 40th birthday today (eek, where did the time go) and they've rented a cottage in Northumberland for a few days, and have invited us for the day.

I made and iced his cake yesterday, so I just have to pipe his name and a greeting on. It'll be a nice day.

Yesterday was ok, though I didn't seem to do as much as I'd planned, I've still got the tv cover to finish for the caravan tv, thought I'd put a pocket on to hold the remote control.

Not much will get done today as we'll be out all day, then going to the quiz tonight..

Hope you enjoy your day out TA, and everyone else has as good a day as they can.

    Take care folks xx

    Morning all

Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.

Raining here today but it's stroke club for Steve and I'm cooking lunch for them, somewhere between 25 and 30 people.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone.

My trip to the cinema yesterday was very refreshing. The early show was very quiet so no loud munching. Having a big comfy chair was fantastic and I treated myself to a cheeky glass of wine during the film. I'll be doing that again.

I've no idea what's happening today, I will get out again as it seems to motivate DM more if I'm not here. Yesterday she dressed herself whilst I was out and made the effort to get herself to the bathroom when needed. Today I'll see if she will chop the vegetables for soup.

I hope everyone has a good and happy Tuesday.

Happy birthday to DS Scarlet Ribbons.

We cancelled our trip to Ross-on-Wye, mainly because of the weather forecast but also we are both a little under the weather. We've decided to be more spontaneous - Steve usually needs to know that he has somewhere booked but we will be deciding where to go based on the weather and booking on the day of departure in future. There are so many places we want to visit that we will find sites to go to I'm sure.
  • Up and at 'em this morning towels in the washer, hope they dry.

Please can someone tell me how to get back to the old style forum had computer problems and its come up with the awful new page which I dislike. Thanks
