Did you get anywhere with the tax office?0

Err yes and no as to the whole tax office thing. They do this 'time to pay' service but generally this allows a few extra days up to 12 months, generally with a lump sum to start. They will before this want info on all of my accounts etc etc. As the woman i spoke to said, when self employed you are supposed to put away for your tax each month, which is what i did. However no where near as much as i should. Which is why i am the 4k short. Going to stomach it i think pay them in one go and have a conservative year paying it off. Rather owe my card a bit more than the tax office to be honest.
