I am curious. I have just googled Kefir - something I'd never heard of, and it seems to be a probiotic natural yoghurt. Yes, I have made many a yoghurt.

GERD. In the UK is GORD as we spell oesophagus with the silent 'O' which is missing in other versions of the English language.

So now I wonder where this op has originated from?

GERD = Gastroesophageal reflux disease = UK version :)

I used to make it all the time tho have lapsed a bit lately, think i still have some starter in the freezer somewhere

if once you have made your kefir you strain it again it ends up like a cream cheese consistency which is also nice to use

Not really, but you might get more of a response if you add onto the thread quoted above (unless it has been closed.)

A year or two ago I heard on radio all about someone who had started a business because her husband was so ill, and kefir cured it. I'm pretty sure she wrote a book but googling it hasn't worked. I think she had goats.

On second thoughts this might be their story, which might interest you.
