SIPP max contribution

Having been self employed ltd company director for number of years I am just realising the benefits a SIPP could have to me.
I have seen a small commercial property which would be a suitable SIPP investment.
Paying myself the most economical way with regards to NI and DIVI (around 8k income) what is the maximum I could get into a SIPP this tax year. Could ltd company match any contribution?
I could always purchase personally or thru company then have sipp purchase at a later date if contribution amount is low.
I did see somewhere about maximum 'one off' contributions but then read elsewhere you had to be member of a pension scheme for last 3 years.
Basically head is spinning!

£40,000 if you have no existing pensions or £160k (minus contributions already made in current year and previous 3).Could ltd company match any contribution?
Not sure why you would want to pay personal contributions. It would reduce what you could pay in if you did and it not very tax-efficient compared to company contributions.
There are a number of caveats and scenario issues that would require further information to see if they would apply or not. But the simple answer to your raw question is above.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I'm not quite sure how these contributions work hence asking if "employer" could match as thought it may double potential contribution.
Glad the figure is higher than I was expecting. Thought it may be closer to salary level i.e. 8k
At end of the day the investment is not solely based around SIPP but it's good to know its a potential avenue should the deal come to fruition0
