Mortgage Advice Needed

Hi Guys

My current deal with natwest ends 31 Jan 2008, so I need to change mortgages, or stay with them. Myself and my girlfriend (joint application) have both recently started new jobs also. I got a shock the other day when I went through to a mortgage advisor and I was turned down for a remortgage with Britannia because of my Credit Rating, which I thought was good as I have never missed a payment on my mortgage or Loan? I am awaiting my experian report before I apply for anything else.

My problem is:

Do I stay with Natwest and accept a poor rate? 2yr Fixed rate is 6.23ish
Do I wait for my credit report and see what the problem is? If there is a problem, how likely is it that this would resolved by Jan?

I have a £20k loan which I would like to put into my mortgage to reduce monthly costs also. I think this may be a problem with poor Credit.

Any advice would be good. thanks

Kind Regards

Dunnc64

Did the advisor say why it was declined?

If its joint application, get your partner to request a credit report there may be something on there instead (dont want to start a domestic) but as you are with nat west you should have a good score already. You still have time to get things sorted so dont panic yet

I've just remortgaged with an online mortgage company. They were able to help me with my Bad Credit Remortgage.

Second post this afternoon plugging them, do you work for them?

Can you explain why it is good to pay a massive broker fee?
