Hi
My husband wishes me to take out a mortgage on my income as our mortgage expires at the end of the year as is interest only. But I am reluctant too as I wanted to change jobs and we could sell part of the garden ( that has planning permission to build a house on) to cover the cost of the mortgage. any advice please.
Thanks

That is more for you and your husband to discuss, from a debt free perspective selling the garden makes sense.0

Should I obey my husband?
You presumably agreed to honour and obey when you got married :PI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. My question is what should I do, agree with my husband or stick to selling the part of the garden and try to be mortgage free?
Thanks

Selling garden makes sence, but the big question can you get it all finalised and have the money in time for when your current mortgage expires?0

Hi
Yes, I think we could, but my husband is dead against the idea and wants to employ builders to build the house. The money is not available to do this, but he may inherit some In the future.
thank you

Im sorry but what is the purpose of this thread? You are in a mortgage forum. Do you have questions about your ability to get a mortgage? If you post an actual question about if you would qualify for a mortgage we can help.
As it is, it sounds like you need a relationship forum to figure out how to actually talk to your husband and come to a decision as a team.0 -
Thank you
You are right.0
