remortgage & change house deed

Hi,
I've split up with my husband. We have a joint mortgage and the house in both our name. He wants his name removed from the mortgage and has paid nothing since our split.
I managed to get a remortgage offer and in the process of legalising it. My question is, is it better to use the solicitor for the whole process remortgage and change house deed? Or change of name on house deed is something you can easily do it yourself?
Thanks.

A solicitor will be best to do the change of names on the deeds at the same time as registering the new lender.
It should only cost £150 extra for all the work to be done0
