Machine wash polyester?

Options
I have some polyester curtains, the label says dry clean only. Can they be machine washed on a delicate cycle and hung out to dry on the line? They don’t need a proper full wash anyway as they’re not dirty, it’s more of a freshen up

I'd expect them to come out wrinkled, are you a patient ironer?

I often wash things that say dry clean only and they are fine.
The only problem I've had with curtains is that sometimes the lining shrinks and the curtain doesn't, or vice versa. Polyester doesn't normally shrink though so I'd give it a go.

Minimal spin will reduce creasing, they could drip dry outside in this weather if you have outside space.

Thank you, I’ll give it a go. I’m an ironer, when needed, not necessarily patient! I’ll try the line dry method and see what happens

:) I;d agree with the risk of any lining fabric shrinking at a different rate, have had this happen and ended up with a lining two inches longer than the curtain! Shortened the lining and, on subsequent washes, no further shrinkage occured.

Well, I really hung them before washing! I’d taken them down to wash but need them up to block out the sun. I’ll wait until the heat wave passes!
