Any right to time off for personal reasons

I don't see why your partner can't sort the bike out? She is surely a capable adult?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

The problem is if I don't sort this out tomorrow it will lead to more time off of work as without a bike I can't get to work and they cannot deliver for Monday which is when I switch to nights
Okay but this isn't in any way your employers problem and they clearly don't feel overly motivated to help you with it. You need to find a solution so you can get to work - otherwise you won't be able to fulfill your contract.
They haven't authorised the leave. You really need to switch out of blaming/arguing mode and into find a solution mode. If you can't turn up to work, they can dismiss you, and now it's up to you to find a way to avoid that.0 -
That's a bit unfair, I explained why and yes she is capable but does get confused at times due to the fact that English is not her first language as stated earlier.0

You don't have any right to time off for personal reasons, I'm afraid.
Presumably you have taken or could take photos of your bike from all angles so that all the damage is documented. And either your partner could do the same when the new bike arrives, or you could do so when you get home.
That is your best option given the situation you've described.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

We obviously disagree but I can't see how hard it is to accept delivery of a replacement bike and sign for someone taking the damaged one, even with a language barrier?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
I agree, have your girlfriend sort it for you, if there's any confusion it can be sorted over the phone later.
You're making it a big problem when it really needn't be.0 -
The answer to any rights regarding personal time off is no, you don't have any. A decent employer would work with you on this (assuming this isn't a regular occurrence) but they are under no obligation to. It's not what you want to hear, but it's your responsibility to get to work and back, and not your employers.0

Google on 'concierge services + name of your town' . You can book someone to be there to help your girlfriend with the handover of bikes. If the accident wasn't your fault, you can claim the cost as an essential expense against whoever caused the accident.0

Can your girlfriend not deal with it but have you available on the phone if needs be ?0

Unfortunately, there is no entitlement to take time off and you've been told that you can'tbook it asholiday.
While it is frustrating, how you get to work, and whether you have more than one option, is not your employers responsibility.
It spunds as though your best bet may be to take picyutures of the bike, and make notes yourself of the damage, and then for your partner to actually meet with them to hand it over, together with a copy of your list which the person picking it up can confirm.
The alternative may be to rearrange the drip of for when you are on nights, and accept that your partner may need to wake you up when the bike arrives, if she/you don'tfeel confiodent in her dealing with the exchange.
If you call in sick having been refused leave, or simply fail to show up, then this is likely to result in disciplinary action, as it would be going directly against your managers instructions aor a very obvious fake sickie.
Do you know anyone who has a van or trailer who might be able to take your bike to your workplace, so you could have it picked up from there, instead of from your home? All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
