Hello!!!! I've missed you!!!! :rotfl:
Well, I said a couple of weeks, but a couple of days has been enough of a break. I've caught up with my housework and cleared my desk ready to study. I haven't been able to switch off from thinking about money though
and have spent some money in the last few days.
So, a few confessions to make .....

I graduate in 3 weeks and we have booked a meal out to celebrate. So I treated myself to some new shoes. They were £55   but they are lovely black Morgan killer heels and the last time I bought some going out shoes was 4 years ago. I also ordered a dress to wear, but didn't like it so that is going back. The shoes are from my catalogue which I cleared earlier this month but I will be paying it straight off again when the bill comes, and it is 0%. I am also budgeting £100 for my meal out (for me and hubby) as I want to have the night of my life and drink champagne etc. I will only get this degree once and I have worked really hard for it.
Today I have been to town and spent £52 on my Xmas pressie from my parents as it was in the Debenhams sale, so I will get that back.
Also finished off my Xmas shopping and bought some new bras - £50.75.
Had to buy a new hairbrush as DD lost mine and my hair was a state. Got her one of her own too, plus some hair gel for DS1 - £10.83.
Bought an 80th card for my great uncle, an anniversary card for in laws, and a birthday card for cousin's fella - £5.65.
Phew, right, all confessed!
BUT ....... debtwise we are on target
Next month our challenge is to clear our overdraft which is currently £650 in the red  . We haven't been in credit since 2004 so that will be lovely!
After that, we are saving for full and final settlements for our last 2 debts. Found my letter from Wescot from 2 years ago when they offered me a full and final settlement. The offer then was for 75% of the outstanding balance, so I am hoping they will settle for 75% when I offer it to them. That would make it £1230 to clear. I have worked out we could clear that by end of February. Thames offered us 50% 4 years ago for immediate settlement, so if they were to accept 50% now that would be fantastic. It's worth a try.
Oh, and I need 5 more piggypoints to get a £10 voucher for an Xmas pressie .... :rotfl:

Totally agree! You should have a whale of a time. Then remember that when you're low and feeling bad!Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.0 -
you deserve that night out after your degree, its a once in a lifetime thing. Looks like you are really on track for paying off your debt.
Im also needing 5 more piggy points for a voucher! hopefully they will be adding some more tomorrow!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
You'll catch up with the spends and I'm sure being a good DW you'l cut back elsewhere to make up for the splurge! Plus the degree is something to celebrate & the shoes etc can be used for other times (although how anyone walks in morgan heels is beyond me!). Enjoy yourself and let us know how you get on! Tesco have got some really nice dresses at the mo..just a thought! ALso WELL done on the degree!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! And Tesco have 20% off all clothing for the next few days too.....
You both deserve a good night after your hard work - hope you really enjoy it & congratulations.
And you've got plans to clear what's left too...that would be a great start to the new year!
love Floss xx0 -
Our Tesco doesn't do clothes, sadly. I have a top and skirt which will go perfectly with the heels anyway. Yes, I will make up for the splurge somehow, but it will be worth it. I can't imagine going out for a meal to celebrate my biggest personal achievement ever and worrying over the price of the main course. It's not quite the memory I want. So for one night only I will not be a DFW.
I just can't wait until 14th December when it is all official (results day).Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Hi, I had a guilt trip two weeks ago for buying clothes but I've realised that I can't wear rags and shopped carefully! It's not like you buy killer heels every weekend so forget about it! It will be wonderful to be in credit on your bank account and not see the dreaded - sign on your balance!Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0

I probably won't buy any for another 4 years lol. I used to spend loads on shoes (pre-lightbulb of course) and found that I never wore them. I hate buying shoes now.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
