Halifax new product code

Hi,

I'm hoping a broker who deals with Halifax can maybe elaborate on this for us please.

We have a mortgage offer with Halifax valid until next year, it was extended about a month ago.

I've received an e-mail from our broker today stating our offer has expired and they have now extended it again. This makes no sense, I've contacted broker but our case manager was not about, the lady on the desk said this was done because our "product code" has expired and we will now be on a new product code.

Can someone elaborate on this? I intend on calling the broker again tomorrow, I'm unsure if they have made a mistake or if we somehow needed a new offer despite ours being valid until next year.

We have exchanged contracts so naturally I'm nervous about any unnecessary adjustments and I don't want our interest rate to change.

The product you originally secured has passed its close date so you need to select and new one from the current range.

This is distinct from the expiry date of the mortgage offer itself.
