Mortgage after split with Two Children

I separated from my partner 7 years ago due to domestic abuse, we have two children together. He moved out and left me paying the full mortgage for the last 7 years. It was valued prior to him moving and was in negative equity, so there was no point in selling it and it's his children's home. I have been making the payments for the last 7 years and the house is now in equity. I am wanting to know if my ex would still be eligible for the full 50% or can I claim back his half of the mortgage that he should have paid.

You are both jointly and severally liable for 100% of the debt, equally you are both liable for the equity - assuming you bought it as Joint Tenants.
Unless he agrees that he doesn't want any money you will have to pay him something, the figure will be up to you and him to agree. If he doesn't agree you wont be able to sell or take his name off the mortgage and deeds.0
