:cool:Hi all,
I’ve taken the plunge of facing up to the demons I’ve amassed over these past three years. This is going to be my therapy of some kind, I guess I better had introduce myself and give some explanation. Time to hold myself accountable..
I’m SJ, I’m 27 and I’m starting my life over back at my mums with a 5yr old in tow. I had help amassing nearly £14k worth of debt with 13 creditors but naively they’re all in my name (can’t prove otherwise)
so it falls to me to sort, I work full time to make ends meet but someone keeps moving the ends! Therefore I’ve started to embark on my DFW journey with StepChange.
Budgeting has always been my biggest downfall so now would be a good time to figure it all out. According to SC I can get out of debt inside 2 years, providing my situation does not change at all.
Worth noting it will change as I have inherited 1/5th of a foreign property that is currently on the market and has an offer, I know absolutely nothing about as I’m not the one dealing with the estate so it’s difficult to tell when/if this money will come to fruition but if so I’ll be potentially DF by the end of the year meaning less defaults
I suppose not much else to post but if you made it this far thanks for reading

Hi all,
Thanks for the lovely welcome, I’m still in my 30 days breathing space as far as all my creditors are concerned however I had news today that I should have heard from a solicitor regarding the French property (apparently we all should have been contacted) I’m anxious to hear what’s happening as so far we’ve been kept out of the loop. I’d imagine if it was bad news I would have been notified by the appointee. I don’t officially start my DMP yet and my 30 days ends around 12th August. Technically I haven’t actually defaulted on any of my payments yet I’m hopeful I can offer token payments for the month of August and start my DMP September (if sale has not gone through.
I wish I had been taught in school the importance of money management, better ore than never teaching myself I suppose xStarting my life over August 2019. Total debt: £18532
