Is now a good time to move UP or should we hang around until after October?

It's a difficult one and I can sympathise. I'm in same position, I think. I need to sell my flat for what it's worth to be able to put a 10% deposit down on a house. However, if prices come down, then technically I can sell flat for less but will need a smaller deposit on bigger house anyway....
The estate agent was quite clear with me that he would wait until after Brexit. I haven't quite crystalised exactly why though, in my head. My urge is to go now and try to sell before prices drop. But, as my explanation above states, maybe it doesn't matter...0 -
We moved up the ladder into a new build earlier this year. We part exchanged our old house against the new one.
With the deal we got and incentives we got house prices would have to drop by massive amounts for us to have a negative equity problem.
Brexit and what may or may not happen to house prices never came into it for us. We found the ideal home for us with a great deal so we grabbed it with both hands before someone else got there before us.0 -
We’re in a position to proceed with a house purchase now and yes we do have concerns over the Brexit situation but we have found a property we want to buy and are going for it.
Because this property will be a long term investment and on a fixed 2 year we don’t see any problems.
I guess it depends on your situation?
In reality no one really knows what’s going to happen so it’s personal preference.0 -
Brexit may happen on 31 October, 31 January or perhaps never.
Trying to time your life and housing around it may just stress you out.0 -
