Options
I just got the enclosed letter and I am happy to let you all know that at least in my case with my DMP NatWest seems to be willing to stop charges and interest in my two loans and Overdraft

  • Thank you. I thought they were going to be really difficult for what i have read. Because they said that they can make my accounts unusable i have asked barklays (my current bank with whom i have no debts) to open a joint account for my husband and me. I think they can´t touch an account that is joint if the debt is solely at my name and my husband has no debt at all but just in case i want to change all to barclays. We use the joint account for things like rent, bills and groceries. is this the right move to do?

I'd do as you suggest and move banks to an institution with no connection to your debts - if only for a clean break. Good news re the defaults and it would be even better if they refunded you any interest and/or charges they had applied - you never know, stranger things have happened. :)
