Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
Every month we buy shopping for the freezer including some meat. Currently we use ziploc plastic bags for doing this and I want to move away from using this type of product.
What are to green alternative for storing items like Mince, and Chicken etc in the freezer?
I've been reading somewhere about butcher paper, is this suitable? from what I gather it is essentially a type of grease proof paper but it does seem overly expensive when ive looked for it online.
Any help is appreciated

Hi, I take re-usable plastic tupperware tubs or reused takeaway containers to my butcher, and put them into the freezer. when I get home. Once I've used up the meat, I wash them up and take them back to the butcher to refill. I am cutting right down on meat, only eating twice a week, so this reduces our food waste as I chop it up and cook with some fresh, and freeze the rest.
Not sure about the paper, it might get pretty stuck to the meat when it freezes, and go soggy when defrosting. I prefer to keep the meat in a container that is water tight, ready to take out and pop in the fridge to defrost before using. Good luck!0 -
I was thinking of the tuperware boxes too, I already use smaller ones when i take lunch to work from left over dinners, I guess slightly bigger ones to store meat would be handy too.0
