Shared ownership remortgaging fees L&Q

Hi,

Im looking to remortgage in the next few month, I own a 60% share of a property with L&Q.

Having done some research and received some information from L&Q. They have told me there are some fees which are due to them, which seems ridiculous to me.

£130 - aproval of remortgage
£204 - notice of transfer and charge

Does anyone know if would have to pay these fees or if there would be a way around it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • There's a lot of work involved with Shared Ownership, so those fees don't surprise me too much. Everything involving S/O seems to cost more.

The biggest potential issue is if the Housing Association don't accept the lenders valuation - in which case, they'd insist on their own. Which, of course, you have to pay for!!
