Claim From Club For Non Attendance

Options
Hi Everybody,
Can anyone offer advice on the following?
My daughter joined a Keep Fit Club last November but only went until February. She didn't tell them that she wouldn't be going again. The cost was £15 per week. Apparently, if she missed a session she still had to pay.
She signed a contract with them but says she didn't have a copy of it. This week she received a letter saying that she owes them over £300 but that they are prepared to accept £75. This is that first contact they have made in 8 months! Surely they should have reacted a lot sooner.
Any ideas of how to resolve this situation are welcomed.
Thanks.

Ugh; start by asking for a copy of the Contract. Then we can look at their terms and conditions.

Unfortunately just because something seems unfair it does not always follow that it is not legal.
