They will definitely be dry by the time you get home - you should be able to just brush them out with a clothes brush. It's worked for me in the past.

It should just brush off - DD used to keep giant snails & the best thing to de-slime things is vinegar.

Failing the above, try baby wipes - they seem to be the answer to absolutely everything in our house ! (great for skirting boards, marks on walls, uPVC doors and windows and leather sofas!)0
