Lovely little flat, great neighbours and new partner. Would a Local Authority property suit you? It's much cheaper than renting privately. It might be worth looking into.
What I do want to say is that you can and will work it all out, It seems daunting at first but stick to it and I promise you you will get there. xx
thank you - how long did it take you to get debt free?Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0 -
I must admit it took a long time. Five years at least but my ex left me with lots of debts and didn't contribute anything to our son's upkeep. Don't worry too much about the length of time at the moment. For the minute just concentrate on putting your plan in place and paying what you can afford. Do you feel you could put an SOA on here (not everyone feels comfortable doing that so don't worry if you don't want to). There are a lot of people who know an awful lot more than I do and they will be only too happy to make suggestions.
I know you're feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment but this can and will be fixed.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
So this week I have made good progress.
I've made arrangements with Hitachi for reduced payments on my loans (they accepted)
Written to my other creditors - waiting for replies
Applied for Universal Credit
Been granted a small grant from a charity towards my living expenses
Made a budget with Step Change that I can and will adhere to
Sold some stuff on ebay
Sorted out HSBC who refunded me some charges and compensation for poor experience and now I'm back to below my overdraft.
Paid off a returned direct debit
Made a PPI claim
Next week i will:
Sell old mobiles on mazuma mobile
List more stuff on ebay (the stuff that got me into debt, clothes etc that i thought would make me happy, they didn't)
Get a nice notebook and list my debts and payments so I can see them coming down and also track all my spending.Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0 -

Huge relief but i will be getting a default notice which will be on my account for 6 years which isn't great. Am i likely to ever get a mortgage now?Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0
