Accept credit increase?

I've been using an Aqua credit card to help build my credit score after a couple of years of bad choices using regular credit cards got me into debt, which I'm now steadily paying off.
I mostly use the Aqua credit card for emergencies, but after a few unexpectedly large bills I'm now close to my credit limit, though will have paid it all off in the next three months.
Aqua has now offered to increase my credit limit by £1000, but I don't know whether it's better for my credit score if I:
a) decline the credit limit increase to show I don't need all credit that is available
b) accept the credit limit increase but still have a low outstanding balance
Does anyone know which option would have a better impact on my credit score, or does it not really matter either way?
Thanks!

Increasing your credit limit represents positive data in your credit file, so it is good news from that perspective.
I don't believe a credit limit increase offered by your card issuer will impact your 'credit score'. But since your 'credit score' is neither seen nor used by lenders, it doesn't really matter anyhow.
If you do not yet trust yourself to have such a large increase, then you could either decline it, or ring them up and request that it only goes up by £500...
