    So what (not meant rudely - just not sure why you've posted a link, particularly one which requires people to sign up before they can access the article).
    Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

    It's not uncommon for DB schemes to offer this as part of the retirement options available to members. My company has been offering this for around 3 years now - a consultation is offered with an IFA, and if the member chooses to take it up, the advice is paid for my the company.

    If you read the article, it does say that both schemes have written to members already (although a reminder never hurts!).
