Greenway auto electrics on the beersbridge road were the cheapest when i was looking one done last year. I ended up buying a cheap one off ebay and fitting it myself though i didn't need a thatcham approved one for insurance.

hmm, I saw a few of those on ebay for around £30 to £50 - what are they like? They look like imports from Japan or something?! Easy enough to install?

The one i bought was £45 delivered, Took a couple of hours fitting it with the help of some wiring info i'd got off the web. I had a fault with my central locking which meant that if i unlocked the car from the drivers door the rest of the doors stayed lockedm fitted the alarm and had remote central locking. Handy feature was the car unlocking automatically when i got within 15 feet of it. There's an immobiliser built in, the doors lock when i set off to help prevent car jacking and if you are hijacked you can hit a couple of buttons on the remote and the car will stop after 30 seconds giving you a chance to get a bit of distance between you and the thieves. Considering most people ignore an alarm going off until it's been howling for about 3 days solid is it worth spending a fortune?

Jap cars seem to be pretty straight forward. For the central locking trace the wires from your door lock button on the drivers side to the central locking module (probably on the drivers side kick panel) and tap into the wires for that.

thanks again - seems straightforward enough then. You don't know off hand what make/model your alarm was? If you're not having any problems with it, I may as well look for something similar.

That's the bloke i got mine off, not sure if it's the same model of alarm but the remotes are identical and it does everything mine does and more.
