TSB Mortgage

Options
Hello

Just wondering if anyone has taken out their mortgage with TSB? Our application has been handed over to the underwriters on Friday because we recently got married. Curious to know how long it takes for a result. Desperate to get to the end of the process and get the keys!

Thanks

This will be a good exercise in distraction at least.

Im going to go out on a limb here and say youll get an answer from them (TSB) before getting an answer on here in which you can rely on.

How long have you waited so far? Itll be less time than that.

We did our TSB application through a broker on Wednesday the 3rd and had our offer back the followings Wednesday the 10th.

So they seem very quick, at least at the minute.
  • Wow that's good. What is the next step after you receive your offer? We are FTB so all new to this. We have only waited 3 days so far but was advised by TSB "we should have a decision back from the underwriters by the beginning of the week".

    We are FTB too.

Since the offer coming through we have instructed the solicitor to start the searches and arranged for a Homebuyers report (which is going to be a couple of weeks), that’s about it so far.

    Hope we haven’t missed anything.
  • TSB phoned on Monday to say the underwriters are happy with our application and it has moved on to the valuation stage. They have advised we should receive our offer tomorrow, so fingers crossed. Sounds like we are not to far behind you. Our solicitor will not do anything until they have confirmation of our offer from TSB.

Are you feeling confident at this stage or are you still worrying it could fall apart? don't think i will be happy until i actually get the keys in my hand!.

That’s good news, sounds like another quick turnaround for TSB.

Feeling better than I was as I was really worrying about it whilst waiting for the mortgage. Think I’ll be a bit nervous right until exchange and then think I’ll calm down. Hoping to exchange in 4-5 weeks.
  • Yeah defiantly cant complain about TSB. They phoned me this morning to say our offer is now in the post. Once our solicitor receives it then they can start doing their part. Our entry date is August 16th but looking to see if we can bring it forward a week. Such a nerve wracking process, will be glad when its all over.
