Determinedgift sounds fab.
Sorry to hear about you DGD. Fill a bath and add some bicarbonate of soda. Best thing to soothe. Several times a day if she's bad (which I hope she's not) leave her in until wrinkly :rotfl:0 -
Made a long list this morning of things I was meant to do; but here's what I actually did:
A spot of free yoga - really need to stretch
Renewed tax credits
Renewed Child Benefit - had to let them know that ds is staying in education
Called Child Trust Fund for the first time in 16 years. I feel I owe older ds, who never got any 'Blair money'. But 1.1 % Really.
Did my tax - don't have to do a tax return
Went into work to pick up a new (old) laptop that I can use for prep ( and for all of my own work)
Updated budget sheet, which was stuck on dead old old work computer. A bit scary. I'm afraid it's porridge for the rest of the month.
Bought a bit of dog food - and got a voucher
Left overs for breakfast and lunch
Dinner was a nice recipe - I actually shopped for on Monday, leftover is lunch for ds who has a 12 hour day at warehouse job
Am looking after neighbours dog till Sunday - its got a bigger bark than mine
Tidied up after dinner
Set up my login for MSE so I can post

Morning all,
CCL I hope your day goes well and you have a fab holiday!
Dnms I hope you and your gd are feeling better then yesterday.
Its going to be a busy day and so here is my list
* ys bagels for ds1s breakfast
* ds2 to the free school breakfast club for the very last time
* gym class and refill water bottle there (and book next weeks classes, I usually have the 6 weeks off but the kids are old enough to be left for a bit now so plan on still going to the gym)
* dh working from home as he has a medical appointment later, saves him lots of time and money on fuel.
* check banking & update spreadsheet if needed (middle of the month, not much happening)
* check off mr t credit card statement
* scan and save the kids National test results that came in yesterday (we have this instead of SATS I think)
* post rm letter and send off parcel to cex that I didn't get round to doing last night
* run the dishwasher on the quick wash and empty
* use up teas tonight, I know there is 1 chicken/mushroom slice in the fridge, a portion of katsu curry in the freezer, a pizza and lots of salad bits that could do with using up
* sign dh up to the gym using code for no joining fee and my referral code (this might be tomorrow thinking about it..)
* pop to h.bargains, to get an 18th birthday card for a neighbour & a leaving card for one of the children who is going to a different school to the rest of the class.
* take lots of tissues up to the school at pick up time and collect ds2 from there for the last time, I really hope there'll be a pause in the rain/thunder at that point so that we can get some last minute group shots!
* film night with the kids and cwtches, watching Captain Marvel that I bought on Monday using survey vouchers.
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning guys
Thanks for the validation on the gifts!
CCL have an amazing holiday!
1LL hope you're not too tired later on!
Purps thanks for the bath tip. She is ok not too bad but has spots on her face that I can't put lotion on so this hopefully will ease her discomfort
Today:
Will be a home day again!
* have done a meal plan for the next couple of weeks.
* go through larder and work out what I have, what is needed, what can be tweaked on the plan
* finish making gifts for teachers - it's much harder to do with a 6 year old!
* Want to start doing a flylady/deep clean of house so when I'm off for 2 weeks I can let it slide a bit
* do some gardening
* go for a run this evening when oh is back
* find a book/film to read/watch
* use up tea
ok that'll do

Morning all :hello:
Determined hopefully it will stay not too bad. If you need on the spot relief if you put some porridge oats in a muslin and soak in water and then squeeze out and dab on
My list for today:
Label jam I made last night from yesterday's berry pick :A want to make lots more but need to find some jars as have used all mine recently in my spice cupboard. May have to be creative. Shame I'm not nearer to you foxglove I'd take some of your stash
Some of picked fruit for breakfast
4 packed lunches made for work/ childminder
It's payday so big money shuffle at some point
Make pudding for tomorrow
Small shop at SM
Walk with friend at lunchtime, see if she'll mind popping to a shop for me to take something back. Some shops make returns really hard, others so simple.
Do an on line induction for our unmanned library
Hope commute is kind
Have a good day folks. Purps.0 -
Hi my lovelies,
DNMS - Aw, bless madam with the chicken pox. The thought of a nice soothing oaty bath has just reminded me that I didn't put porridge on the online shop that's coming today
CCL - Have a fab holiday!!
Purps - hope your commute is kind to you.
1LL - Busy day alright - I'm tired reading your list! :T
I'm off to our local sling library today. Have been hiring a sling for the past 2 weeks to try them out. We got a £100 voucher from work when our girl was born so think we've finally decided which one to try.
I was going to meet OH for lunch after sling library but weather is pants so we're going early and then he's coming back for lunch. Save some pennies as even a cheap lunch out for us both would've been about £15.
Found out I'm getting a bonus (expected so not a big surprise
) but will be like having an extra couple of paydays instead of SMP so very gratefully received!! In other news, they've had a complete change around at work and my role isn't really there any more. I wonder what they will find for me...but I don't REALLY care...:rotfl:
Bought bread flour from Asda - think this is the best place...is it?
Took something back that LG got as a gift and is too small for her - got some sleepsuits in the next size up.
Need to sort YNAB
Hopefully catch up over the weekend!0 -
Day 3 of being at home with poorly baby and I'm going stir crazy already. It's 12 we have played squares, naughts & crosses, hangman, did some KS1 English games, are watching a fim & about to eat a use it up lunch. Seems today might be a long day....DF as at 30/12/16

Determined - it is allowed to watch more than one film a day when child is unwell :-)
Went for a free walk this morning w two dogs - challenging
Spent hours poring over bills and budgets, found my water meter, send a el and gas reading, so am happy I haven't missed anything.
Almost time for an other dog walk and a free run, want to go on a club/park run tomorrow but have scheduled driving lesson so ...
Have found a pair of old jeans to add to a skirt I'm re-modelling, might start the fun this weekend
Oh - went through folder of kids reports and medical files - some good and some bad memories. But now separated out and can be passed on at some point.
Ate fruit and chicken curry that neighbour left me (along with dog) as she has gone away for a few days.
Found out dog can wait 3 month to get her vaccination booster - so there's a MSE tip for free - dogs don't need annual booster - but a year and just under a quarter ( I used up my vet quota when she had the grass seed in her ear).
Am feeling a bit sad and lonely as am on staycation and people have started going away, on the other hand I am elated to have 5 weeks of down time to hopefully refocus on creative endeavours.

Morning all

Got lots of much needed rain yesterday, so no watering needed :T
I see temps of 30 degrees are forecast for early next week though
Anyway, today's list:
Made a good start by claiming another £5 Amazon voucher from a survey site. That makes £20 in the last few days
Someone is supposed to be collecting a FB marketplace sale this morning - hope they don't mess about like the one who was supposed to have collected it yesterday (after I had held it for her for almost a week)
Will make scones
And a big pot of Bolognese to use up lots of fridge bits
Supposed to be going out to a BBQ tonight, so some can sit in the fridge for tomorrow, and the rest can be frozen.
I have washing to dry, weather permitting!
Clean bathroom floor (again, avoid black and white tiles)
Cut courgettes and see if anything else in the garden needs picking
A bit of ironing
Record yesterday's spends
Check banks and update spreadsheet etc
Read meters and enter readings on energy company's web site
That will probably do!0 -
Morning all :hello:
We're having some friends round today so quick list before I must get on:
Home made pudding in oven, used previously frozen egg whites
Make scones shortly
Quick tidy round
Reconcile just for points credit card
Any food not eaten will be tomorrow's meal :A
See if I can pull up a few weeds post rain to make the garden look vaguely more less wild
Put some washing away no ironing :T
Have a good day all. Purps.0
