Removing name from joint loan

I will be going BR shortly once I jave saved the money for the fees and I still live with my ex but separated. I have had my name removed from the joint account and this was very easy to do. The only joint finance we now have is a loan, my ex does not think he can refinance this due to credit score but can prove he has been paying the loan from his account since it was taken out, if I tell them that I am going BR will they be willing to remove my name so that he has no financial connections to me as we do not want his credit rating to be affected. He is happy and can afford to keep up the payments until the loan ends. Has anyone done this before and what are our chances?

Sorry - but I don't think you have much chance of the bank agreeing to that. If it was taken out in joint name, then the bank will expect it to be a settled account before they would be prepared to remove your name. However, as you husband is going to be keeping on paying - they might consider it - you wont know until you ask them. The worst they can say is no.0
