Just been looking for stocking fillers for my fishing mad hubby and came across this on Ebay

I would go with the handwarmer, flask etc. How about one of those folding stools you can get for about £3? A pair of thermal socks to keep feet cosy on a cool day. A new "cagoul" to keep the light rain off, a hat, possibly even a new pair of wellies if he wears them?"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!
Murphy's NMPC Memb No 239! Dippychick's De-clutter club Member No 6! - onto room no 2!
My Avatar? Arnie and Casey, proud parents to Storm and Tsu born 19/01/2009!!! - both now in new homes and called Murron and Burger!0 -
Thanks guys. I think I will get that fisherman's journal
I have already bought a thermos flask, a food flask, some handwarmers, 6 sachets of cafe switch or whatever it's called, I've got a voucher for some free coffee from Whittards which they will hopefully still have tomorrow
I missed that book recommended on the book people website and I must have literally placed a massive order on the same day I posted :wall: Need to seek out a free delivery code now if I can.
There's a guy in the local shopping centre who burns names etc. into bits of wood and leather. He's got a fish plaque for £1.50 - I was too scared to ask him to engrave "a fisherman lives here with the catch of his life" on it because I was scared it wouldn't fit. I think he'd actualy like that because he loves my aunty loads, bless him!
Admittedly, the kit thing is frightening me because I don't want to get it wrong either!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If you've got 'The Works' near you, they are selling a box set of DVD's featuring Matt Hayes (well known TV fisherman ...and I've met him!) and they are 3 for £9.99 (I think), which is a good price.
I live with an avid fisherman and you can't go far wrong buying anything fishing related as you can't ever have enough.
I have bought my OH a fishing trolley (constantly used), rod holdall, waterproofs, weighing scales, seat box, floats, different line strengths... etc, etc.
Steer clear of anything in the cheaper/pound-type shops, as they tend to sell stuff that is illegal and would not be approved for use in fisheries, etc.0 -

Thanks earthmother for those ideas. DD's OH is a fisherman and I ordered him some handwarmers for under £5 and also some neoprene gloves (only the thumb and forefinger are fingerless - if that makes sense?) for under £10. Checked with DD before I ordered and she thought it was a fantastic idea as her OH had asked her to knit him some gloves to the same design. :T0
