Filling or take out

Options
Hi can I ask the resident dentist a question.

I have three front teeth out which are the two main ones and one to the left. I wear a denture pallet for theses now recently I have been getting a hole on my teeth on the next tooth along on the left and one after the nex one on the right side. Now it doesn’t hurt but feeling with my tongue they are getting sharper and the hole is bigger.

I’m worried that it will break off. However they did do a white filling for me for one of my front teeth. I would prefer to get that done rather than more teeth out. Is this possible if it doesn’t hurt.

I struggle to go to dentist as they are open when I’m at work. I need to keep leave aside for appointments regarding a big operation I’m having soon. Because I keep feeling them with tongue it’s causing my younger to be sore.

Thank you

I'm sorry - but it's impossible for me to answer that without seeing the exact situation and the state of all your mouth, and how it relates to those specific teeth. Your dentist is really the person you need to ask those questions to.

I've not done any NHS dentistry for over 10 years now, so I'm not really on top of what assistance you can get for NHS costs. (There are no subsidies for private costs). I would suspect that an income of £17k would be over any limits for help though.

As for time for appointments, the dentist can only help you when you're there in the surgery. If you can't find the time to go, then either look around for one with more convenient appointment times, or come to a better arrangement at your workplace, but the teeth won't fix themselves.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Unless you change your diet and oral care , whatever you chose to do will not last very long at all.

If you do not keep regular dental checks then problems can become so big that you will lose more teeth.

First off book a check up with a dentist who can see you and your teeth. They will be best able to give you your options , but if you done change what has caused you to lose other teeth and damage these teeth then your best /only option may be to have more teeth out.

This form is the one to fill out to see if you qualify for help with dental costs https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/nhs-low-income-scheme
