how do i find out who I owe money to?

I expect the info i want is on this site somewhere so sorry in advance for asking for it to be repeated
I read on a thread this morning cant remember which one now, sorry) that you can look up who you owe money to if you no longer have any paperwork for them? how do i do this please?

you can get copies of your credit files from the three agencies.
however be aware that you may be awakening the dead i.e. your address will be updated and your creditors may contact you.0
