    Its a chemical reaction, and one that gives out heat. The "clicky thing" must expose the chemicals to a catalyst, which starts the reaction. Applying heat must separate the chemicals again.
    The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

    Glad that some of you have received this. Having found the site and posted on MSE, I am still waiting for mine :( I do have a couple of handwarmers bought a few years ago and yes, they do work here after year. Click the metal disc and quickly massage the pack. The liquid will then solidify and warm up. Can stay warm for up to 2 hours. Boil pack to reduce solid mass to liquid again, ready to reuse. Make sure you wrap the pack in a tea towl, as the pack should not touch the sides of the pan.
