Normal salary on top of SSP?
Comments
-
Employers can no longer reclaim the cost of paying SSP so (other than possibly avoiding employers NI on the SSP bit?), there's no advantage to them in paying SSP plus a top-up rather than just paying full salary to someone off sick.
There may be no advantage, but 'statutory' means just that: the employer must pay it (and be seen to pay it). Whether they want to pay anything on top is up to the employer, depending on what is promised in an employee's terms of employment.
This really is a bizarre question.0
