Santander Mortgage application with 5 year old late credit card payments

Hi, First time poster here.
My wife and I have recently applied for a HTB mortgage with santander through a good broker.
My wife has been in the UK 4 years and currently on a spouse visa which I have been told is ok.
I am also self employed which makes it more complicated but my biggest worry at the moment is my credit history.
The last 5 years have been immaculate with not one missed payments on there including a paid off loan which finished this year and is settled. However I have a credit card that was settled in 2015 and the most recent late payments are in 2014 on it. from 2009 and 2014 there a quite a few 1s and a couple of 2s. I was foolish enough to get for my girlfriend at the time and she said she would pay it. After splitting she obviously didnt.
How will a lender look at late payments that are 5 years old?
We have the mortgage in principle which I know doesnt mean much and our application is currently with an underwriter .
thanks in advance

Your credit files only show 6 years of history so anything pre July 2013 shouldn’t be visible.0

On check my file it is visible as it was settled in 2015 and late payments in 2014. I can see everything dating back to 2009 on it.0
