Hi,

A friend of mine husband died and she would like to get access to his mobile iPhone. She has spoken with Apple and they have said if she gives them the phone with a copy of his death certificate they will wipe it.

Any suggestions? :A

Depends if she wants to get access to the phone so she can re set it and use it OR does she want to get access to it to view messages etc?

Unless she knows (or can guess) the password then I doubt there would be any possibility of Apple "unlocking" it for you

If she knows the Icloud password it might be possible to restore from that I guess?

Your best bet would be his fingerprint if he hasn't been buried or cremated yet, however I suspect they have been.

do the iphone fingerpint readers not work on electrical conductance? If so, won't work on someone who has been deceased for a while.

You mean you can't chop someones finger off to unlock their phone?

Take a print of the fingerprint and use your own finger to press fingerprint against the reader.

Apple refused/couldn't unlock a phone for the FBI, so I don't hold out hope of anybody else being successful.

Don't think I'd want my missus going through my phone after I'm dead anyway...
