Northern Rock interest query.

Hi, I have had a mortgage with Northern Rock and now NRAM since 2007 just before it all went belly up. I was advised to go fixed for 5 years (poor advice but that is what it is) and variable since.

What i want to know is recently there seems to be a couple of adverts from companies saying that there i history of Northern rock over charging on their interest. Normally I don't go much on these adverts but i do remember something on a tv show regarding such a thing.
Can any one tell me if this is worth pursuing and if so what is the best way of doing this?

Thanks in advance.
