Self Build Mortgage - income multiple?

Hi,
Anyone recently taken out a self build mortgage? Im curious to know if the same income multiple is applied when working out borrowing limits, is it generally inline with a standard residential mortgage? So 4.5 for instance?
It will be my wife and myself applying.
