Releasing Equity to buy abroad

Not to sure if this is the right place but hoping someone can help.
I’m looking to release about £50k from our house to buy a property in Spain
We do not have a mortgage and our house is worth about £400k
There seems to be a few pitfalls with releasing equity but any help much appreciated
