Retiring at 55 from Nhs. Take reduced pension at 55 or defer till 60?

I'm about to retire from the Nhs aged 55 and will no longer be working. My partner's income can support both of us so should I defer the pension till NPA of 60 or take the reduced pension at 55? I expect people will know already if they have Special Status, and it is very unusual to be awarded it retrospectively
