Noob here. Had an email - Dodgy?

From info at customer - deals dot com
I'm short listed to win #1,000 Primark voucher. I have to click to participate. No idea if this is legit.

How do you keep a track on all the links you're sent through? I've stopped on quite a few as i don;t like being sent through more than 1 or 2 websites.

It sounds like a scam to me.
They want you to answer then they know the e-mail is live - expect a lot of spam.

They are a pain in the bum.
I keep getting them from one that ends in 'clubusa'
Primark, Ikea, etc. I've supposedly 'won' thousands in vouchers from them.
Just delete them, but if you aren't sure, it's okay to ask on here first.

Be wary of any emails that don't name you, it's not a solid rule but if you get an email saying, for example :

Your email address is floopyloop@loopy.com (not a real email)
and the email says "Hello floopyloop" ... chances are it's dodgy.
If an email says "You've been shortlisted for a chance" or any variation of that ... probably junk.

Generally a genuine winning email will come from a personal email address (so something like billy.bragg@mycompany.com) and will generally start with "Hello Branston" (assuming your real name was Branston) or something like that.

These aren't hard and fast rules though, so just make sure you read the emails, check the email address they're coming from but don't click any links unless you're 100% sure.

The email you've mentioned is junk, bin it.

Also anything that says you are on a shortlist for a prize is usually to be avoided. Comps you'll find on here will only have shortlists if they are a judged effort comp. Otherwise there's no need to shortlist, there will just be two lists- one for the winner or winners and one for everybody else. So if you haven't entered anything where your entry will be judged ignore any mention of shortlists as it is just a ploy to get you to think you're one of a special chosen few, which is just a marketing trick.
