Mortgage completion - No FEES means?

Hi,
I've recently switched to a "no fees" CoOperative Bank mortgage, but on the final statement sent out by the company nominated solicitors are 2 fees
a) Bank Charge 30+VAT (This was not for repayment of any balance -- this appears to be for mortgage itself)
b) Land registration fees £30

Now as far as I can see both of these are expected/normal fees, yet everywhere on my key facts etc I see "no fee".

Is this normal, or should I be approaching the coop for a refund of these charges?

Note - the product itself is great, and they've been very helpful so far.

  • This is the problem with the whole free legal thing! They sound like charges from the solicitor not the lender, but free legals should be free legals. I dont doubt they cover them selves in a small printed leaflet or something however I would complain to the lender first. Solicitors do what they like as they answer to nobody!
