Barclays Appointment

Options
Hi,

I have a Branch ID&V appointment with Barclays and I just wanted to know what happens during this appointment. As I’ve been told to bring my proof of identity and address and that the appointment will last up to an hour.

I’m just curious as my broker told me it will take just 15 minutes and that they will just scan my proofs and return them to me so why would they need up to an hour and not half an hour?

    Standard wording, I would imagine.

Why isn’t your broker ID & V ing you?

Thats because I don’t bank with Barclays and I was told it is a standard procedure for them to create a profile for myself and my partner by going in branch and providing my ID documents.

Sorry, are you doing this mortgage directly with Barclays or through an independent broker?

If through a broker I’m surprised you need to go to a branch, I’ve placed several cases with Barclays and we as the brokers certify during the application process the ID & V that we have seen.

Barclays do request this on some occasions, such as when a name has changed. 15 minutes to certify the ID. 45 minutes to try to sell you something.
