Hi All
I wanted to share our experience with you, iv read a lot of threads on here & a lot of the put the fear of god into you.
However, here is our story....
We initially put an offer on a house which was accepted & mortgage offer was issued. After this time i started a new job fairly early on in our process, we didnt notify our lender immediately simply because we never realised we had to.
Then we decided to pull out of our original purchase as we had found our dream home (1 month into the process)! we had our offer accepted on the second house. We notified our lender this was at the top of our lending budget & it was accepted.
We then realised we hadnt notified our lender about my new job, so we did a bit of research online which caused a great deal.of worry & concern to us as we thoight our offer would be withdrawn because we hadnt notified them immediately.! We decided to do an anonymous online chat to tread the water to see what the consequences would be & they reassured us that it would be fine & our offer wouldnt be withdrawn.
We spoke to the lender & informed them of the change , no questions asked they have re evaluated our circumstances & all was fine.
My salary was slightly less as it was less hours than before, however this didnt cause too much detriment to our application.
So if your worried please be assured that you wont be sent to prison for forgetting to tell them, its best to be honest up front & not taint the already stressful house buying process by worrying if the lender will find out.
Our lender was Lloyds & they was very good with the application process & very easy to deal with.
We are now in the process of buying our dream home with nothing but the usual worries of buying a house.
We have today received our Mortgage offer :j
I hope this helps any worried people out there, although my advice would be to defer moving jobs if you can until youve completed.
