in Cutting tax
Hi all
I'm joining a company who pay for private fuel as well as business miles on my company car. Would I be able to use the fuel when in my wifes car, or riding on my motorbike, as I do very little private mileage in my company car.
Thanks

Question for your employer?
Tax wise you can do 10 miles or 10,000 - the fuel benefit will be the same.
Your employer may frown upon it though.0 -
Is it morally correct to take the Pee from your employer, when it was for your own use AND in your company car?
That is a question only you can ask, you can try, but your employer may question why your using so much fuel when there is an audit"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

If you have a company car with private mileage and fuel allowed, why would you use your wife's car?0

So you would fill up your wife's car using your fuel card or whatever means of paying for fuel your employer gives you? To me that's theft.0

You are liable to pay tax on private fuel paid for by your company0

Some fuel cards require the reg number to be entered so that would catch you out if your employer doesn't allow fuel in your other cars (which I would expect to be a condition of providing the car/fuel). Ultimately, it's up to your employer whether they allow it or not.0
