Ok so we have been busy sorting out the debts we owe but this one must have been missed.
It's from transport for London - total £558

Have had letters in the past, never dealt with, wasn't my husband driving but was allowing someone else to use his van. Stupidly.

I've had a bailiff here today, I hid, locked all the doors.

He finally left.

He's left a removal notice through the door

Enforcement action is being taken against my husband under the "the taking control of goods regulations 2013" to remove goods for sale at public auction"

He's coming back one day this week between 7pm-9pm

They want it paid in full. Which we simply cannot afford right now. Please help me

I'm not an expert but what I think you need to do is call up TFL, explain you can't afford to pay it right now, and ask to set up a payment plan that you can afford (e.g. some amount per month). They should then get the bailiffs to stand down.

Was it missed because the paperwork went to the wrong address or because it wasn't paid?

If it is the former you can send TE7 and TE9 forms back to the TEC (Traffic Enforcement Centre)

Probably the best strategy.

They are not allowed to force entry on a first visit but if you allow them entry and they 'take control of' goods, then they can force entry on a subsequent visit. Not that goods are ever removed - it's just harassment.

So follow the other advice here and have a chat to whoever was driving the van.
