Mortgage arrears fees - please help / advise!!!

Hi,
We have just re-mortgaged, and had some mortgage arrears early on in our old mortgage. Having received closing statements etc, whilst re-mortgaging, we realised what these amounted to - it's scary.
Our lender charged us £50.00 a month as an arrears fee, and we have accrued a fair few of these charges.

Does anybody know if they can be reclaimed, similarly to credit card / bank charges???
Are they deemed unfair and unreasonable as bank charges are?
I have successfully had two claims against barclays Bank for bank charges, and so know the ropes (I already have statements from our old mortgage lender, so that's one step taken care of)?
Also, we have been charged a £100.00 exit fee - I assume from other threads that we can claim this back too???

Does anybody have any advice or know if this can be done (I really hope so!)?
Any help / advice very gratefully received!
Thanks for your help.

Mortgage Exit Fee - I believe you may have a case IF the exit fee charged was higher than that quoted on your original mortgage offer. Check this and read Martins article on reclaiming mortgage exit fees.

The position on arrears fees is less clear, my best guess is you would have trouble reclaiming these.
