40 No Pension NHS

The NHS pension is literally one of the best you can get in the UK as a "normal" PAYE employee in similar roles like local authority or HMG.
The great news is you will probably benefit way more than your contributions however nothing comes for free and in return the NHS want your time. Its a trade off really, your time now for their money later.0 -
If you did want to retire early perhaps you could try and keep adding to the savings pot you mentioned previously and see if this could tide you over until 68 when you can draw your NHS and state pensions.Franky2019 wrote: »Thank you so much for all your replies.
So the message is STAY in the pension
does it make a huge difference if i wanted to retire at 65? so with my current NHS pension and state, I would be roughly 20k p/a income?
apologies, I am a bit naive when it comes to pensions."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
If having a degenerative disease such as a cancer ever had an opposite, it would be something like having this kind of pension.
You're continually contributing to the growth of something which will grow, faster than you expect or deserve, into an expanding source of security, hope, comfort and beneficence, giving you greater mobility, options, opportunity, flexibility, and the chance to reduce the burden on yourself, your dependants and inheritors.
The faster it grows the better it will be for you in your future.
