OH has asked for a Banjo for Christmas - help!

So he has asked for a banjo, and I would assume he will need a starter kit too, with a book and what not.

Is there anyone who knows anything about them?

And where I can get one from? How much it will cost etc.

Ebay has some, but they are all different! :eek:

I would suggest going into your nearest decent music shop, and asking for some advice.....thye'll be more than happy to help.

I did the same last year - DF had been muttering about a mandolin for ages, so when I got my bank charges back I bought him one for his birthday...didn't have the faintest idea so spoke to our local music shops & made decision after that.

Good luck - does he play the guitar or is he musical at all?

Floss2 His two brothers play things, one guitar and one drums, so he must have some talent in there somewhere.

Will get into a music shop at some point, DS2 quite ill at the moment making going out difficult, so will wait till I get someone to babysit.

Has your DF used his mandolin much? Or was it just a phase?
