Any success re. Nationwide mortgage appeal?

I had an appointment with Nationwide about taking over my current joint mortgage I have with ex and got turned down. The current mortgage payments, that he is still paying half of I can actually afford by myself. The fixed rate deal 1.79% is due to end February next year and if the mortgage were to continue, payments would be lower, with the house value increasing. A fraction of what rent is. The mortgage payments currently + all household bills total just over half of my payslip.
I have asked Nationwide about appealing this decision and they have informed me I can appeal and must demonstrate that I can cover the mortgage and all bills from my own current account for at least 3 months in order for them to reconsider. The advisor has said some people have been successful and won their appeal.
Anyone got any positive outcomes from appealing by showing they can afford the payments?

Why don’t you look at a remortgage with other lenders to happen in February when your current deal ends.
A broker can have a look at this for you and see if you would fit criteria : affordability elsewhere if Nationwide isn’t looking good.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
