I have heard L&C have either closed down their adverse department or they will be doing in the next month or so - no idea how true it is, but I have heard it through the grapevine.

  • Very interesting. That'll be a pain for me personally then as I won't finish my app in the next month!

Also have to wonder how that would affect their business volumes if so, as I have seen a number of cases with adverse where they are the adviser!

It is not to say they will no longer do adverse and what is classed as adverse? There is no real definition, everyone differs.

If you are an underwriter, I would expect you to be able to ensure the broker (even if they are really bad) to have everything they need and regardless of whether or not they ask for it.
